INDIVIDUAL PSYCHOTHERAPY
Emotional Alchemy
Individual counseling sessions occur in 50-minute slots on a weekly, or bi-weekly basis. Psychotherapy can be extremely productive when the correct modality is responsibly integrated in a working relationship. When trust, attunement, and open communication begin to emerge in a supportive relational ecosystem, it becomes increasingly possible for one to take essential growth-oriented risks in therapy.

The most common focus areas in my practice include the following...

RELATIONSHIP THERAPY
Relational Transformation
Relationship counseling can support partners in practicing effective patterns of communication, addressing misalignments in values, and cultivating an understanding of how past trauma influences engagements with others. I am heavily guided by Attachment Theory in my practice, which serves to determine attachment style, attachment wounds, and present attachment enactments. You can read more on Attachment Theory here.

Discernment counseling is another form of professional intervention offered in my practice. Those experiencing relationship ambivalence will be assisted in accessing clarity specific to unresolved questions regarding relationship sustainability. Through this process, you will make a well-informed decision regarding the future of your relationship.

Alternatively, partners who have already arrived at a conclusion to part ways, might wish to maintain meaningful, ongoing connection. This form of therapy supports folks in accessing the most cohesive un-partnering process possible. When former partners maintain genuine regard for one another, and willingness for thoughtful collaboration, it is entirely possible to experience romantic disentanglement as guided by empathy, and reciprocal enactments of care & consideration.

It's a common misconception that a problem must precede counseling services. Relationship therapy can serve to fortify an already nourished partnership by compounding on pre-existing, or under utilized strengths.

I respect and honor all relationship orientations, and consensual practices.

EYE MOVEMENT DESENSITIZATION AND REPROCESSING
Trauma Tx Using Bilateral Stimulation
Offerings include hourly sessions, or significantly longer EMDR intensives when possible. In EMDR, bilateral stimulation (usually guided eye-movements,) occurs simultaneously to revisiting a selected target image from past traumatic instances. This technique promotes reduction in emotion and vividness associated with traumatic experiences, and has proven to decrease automatic trauma response activation overall.

Many have found EMDR to be quicker, and more effective in treating trauma when compared to traditional forms of dialogue-centered psychotherapy.

CONSULTATION FOR INDIVIDUALS & ORGANIZATIONS
Support for Helping Professionals
Consultation can encourage tremendous professional and personal development. The primary focus within our work will be on you as the support entity, and the elements of your historical relations, which when activated can impact how you conceptualize yourself in your role, and/or influence how you experience and respond within relevant relationships. Consultation offers a soft container for accountability in this regard.

Our time together will serve as a medium to explore core influences on overall quality of personal and working life, alongside default perceptions of self & others, and will be structured to support you in taking a deep dive into the previously unexamined. We will harvest valuable data on what informs your work, and how you feel within your role, especially when challenges persist.

Some common reasons support providers seek consultation include...
-Transforming feelings of "imposter syndrome"
-Clinical case consultations to support treatment effectiveness
-Navigating complex interpersonal dynamics and/or boundary considerations, as encountered in the client-counselor collaboration
-Maximizing care competencies & critical insights when supporting specialty populations
-Clinical documentation compliance & adherence with governing protocols
-Promoting work-life balance & managing role-related stressors that can accelerate provider fatigue
-Cultivating critical personal and professional awareness
-Dismantling limiting beliefs around the value of emotional and psychological labor(s)
-How to soften urgency when a client reaches out unexpectedly in non-emergent situations
-Normalizing mistakes as a universal experience not exclusive to emerging professionals
-Addressing career and/or job-related ambivalence
-Individualized practitioner health & wellness supports

Please note: Consultation is available for individuals and organizations who engage in supportive work centering social/relational/communal undertakings. When seeking consultation specific to clinical services, please note that professional consultation is a different service than direct clinical supervision and will not satisfy mandatory supervised hours towards licensure.
